The growing count tallies, out of all the tickers currently shown, how many have a positive expected growth (mean projected return above 0%) at the horizon you've selected. It's a one-glance breadth read — how many names the model leans up on — not how much any of them might move.
Every ticker in a scan already carries an expected-growth figure: the quantum model's mean projected return over the chosen horizon (3-month, 6-month, or 1-year). The growing count just counts the ones where that figure is greater than zero and shows it as growing / total. Nothing is weighted or ranked — a ticker forecast at +0.5% counts exactly the same as one at +40%.
Example (illustrative): if you're looking at a filtered list of 20 tickers and 13 have a positive mean forecast at the 3-month horizon, the growing count reads 13 / 20 (65%). Switch to the 1-year horizon and it can change — a name the model expects to dip over three months but recover over a year flips from not-growing to growing.
Breadth is useful context: a scan where 18 of 20 names are growing paints a very different backdrop than one where only 3 are. But because it ignores magnitude, conviction, and tail-risk, a high growing count can hide the fact that most forecasts are barely-positive and low-confidence. Use it to frame the overall tilt, then look at each name's own expected growth, confidence band, and conviction before acting.
